💳 How Payment Works (Simple Explanation)

You have 2 simple options:

✅ Option 1: Pay Upfront (Most Popular)

Example (Starter package): Pay £300 now for the website build, then £30/month ongoing for hosting & support.

How you pay the £300:
• Card payment — Just like buying something on Amazon. Use your debit/credit card. I send you a secure payment link (Stripe). You can split it 50/50 if it helps (£150 now, £150 when site's ready).
How you pay the £30/month:
• Direct Debit (GoCardless) — Same as your phone bill or gym membership. Set it up once, it automatically takes £30 from your bank each month. Cancel anytime with 30 days notice.

✅ Option 2: Spread Over 12 Months

Example (Starter package): No big lump sum. First payment of £61 when your site goes live, then £61/month for 11 more months (12 months total). Covers website build + hosting + support. After 12 months, drops to £30/month ongoing.

How you pay:
• Direct Debit (GoCardless) — Set it up once, first £61 comes out when your site is ready, then automatically takes £61 each month for 12 months total, then £30/month after that. Spreads the cost like a phone contract — no big upfront lump sum.

🤔 What's Direct Debit (GoCardless)?

It's like what you already use for your phone bill, council tax, or gym membership. You give permission once, and the payment automatically comes out of your bank account each month. You can cancel it anytime from your online banking, and it's covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee (full refund protection if anything goes wrong).

💳 What's Stripe?

It's how you pay by card online — same as Amazon, eBay, or any online shop. I send you a secure payment link, you enter your debit/credit card details, and it's done. Simple as that.

Your build cost is significantly reduced (£300 vs typical £500-1,000), and I commit to maintaining your site, running monthly reports, and keeping everything optimized. After 12 months, it's month-to-month and you can cancel anytime with 30 days notice.
What happens if I want to cancel early?
You can cancel anytime with 30 days notice, but there's a £200 early termination fee if you cancel within the first 12 months. This protects the discounted build cost. After 12 months, there's no cancellation fee — just give 30 days notice.
Can I pay monthly instead of upfront?
Yes! You can spread the entire cost over 12 months with no big upfront payment. For example, the Starter package is just £61/month for 12 months (that's the website build + hosting + support all included). After 12 months, it drops to £30/month ongoing. What's included in the £30/month care plan?
Everything: monthly analytics reports (traffic, top pages, sources), Google Search Console monitoring, speed checks, mobile/browser testing, bug fixes, up to 5 content updates per month, hosting management, domain setup, and priority 48-hour support. It's basically a full-time web developer for £1/day.
Do I really own my website and domain?
Yes! You own your website code and all content — you get full access to all files. The domain is registered and managed on my Namecheap account as part of your care plan (saves you the admin hassle of DNS, renewals, etc.). If you ever want to move elsewhere, I'll transfer the domain to your own registrar account at no extra cost. The care plan ends when you move hosting/domain elsewhere.
What if I need changes or updates?
Included in your care plan! You get up to 5 content updates per month (text, images, prices, hours, etc.). Need more control? Add the Full Admin Panel (£150 one-time) and edit everything yourself from a secure dashboard.
Which package is right for my business?
Starter (4 pages): Perfect for local businesses who need Home, About, Services, Contact. Great for trades, sole traders, and service businesses. Business (5-6 pages): Ideal for salons, landscapers, cafés who need galleries, video, Instagram. How does the monthly payment work?
If you choose the monthly option (Option 2 above), we set up a Direct Debit using GoCardless — it's the same system you probably use for your phone bill, council tax, or gym membership. Once it's set up, the payment automatically comes out of your bank account each month (no invoices to chase, no late fees, no hassle). First payment starts once your site goes live. What if I already have a domain?
Perfect! I'll connect your existing domain to your new site at no extra cost. If you don't have one yet, I'll register it for you (included in all packages).
Can I upgrade my package later?
Yes! Start with what you need now, and add pages or features later as your business grows. I'll work out fair pricing for upgrades based on the additional work required.
Do you build e-commerce sites / online shops?
Yes! E-commerce pricing works the same as our standard packages — you pay based on pages (Starter £300, Business £450, Premium £600).
