Guitar Lessons
I offer four areas of music instruction: beginner, intermediate and advanced guitar lessons as well as guitar maintenance and repair lessons.
Beginner Guitar Lessons - These lessons feature both beginner strumming and scale exercises to improving the technique and accuracy in your playing. We begin to cover the notes of the neck and discuss how to correctly finger chords. We pair correct technique exercises with Major and Minor Open Chords to learn a variety or popular songs. Here we start finger exercises to increase strength and dexterity, moving toward pentatonic scales and blues riffs. Students learn songs such as Smoke On the Water by Deep Purple, Back In Black by AC/DC and Neon Moon by Brooks and Dunn.
Intermediate Guitar Lessons - Once the Open Chords and Power Chords theory and songs are mastered, students are considered "Intermediate" players and move on to Pentatonic Scales and Blues/Rock progressions. Notes of the neck are covered here and note intervals are introduced. Students are offered video-based instruction as well to supplement lessons.- Advanced Guitar Lessons - Here students move on to seven-note scale theory, modes, arpeggios, multi-chord song progressions. Students are required to play complete songs, start to finish on the guitar including solos. We study the styles of Randy Rhoads, George Lynch, Tony Iommi, Vivian Campbell, Eddie Van Halen and Yngwie Malmsteen as well as many other guitarist. Speed interval training is completed with the use of the drum machine and the instructor playing the bass.
Guitar Repair Lessons - I offer a variety of guitar and bass repair tutorials and lessons on just about any stringed instrument. These classes cover guitar maintenance and repair issues such as Guitar Relicing, Action Adjustments, Intonation Adjustments, Set Ups, Damage Neck Repair, Strap Buttons Repalcement, Fingerboard Scalloping and Sanding, Fret Divot Replacement, Neck Refret Jobs and Custom Electronics Installs. I can answer a wide variety of repair answers to questions many guitar players have. I have been Fender repair certified since 2003.
Lessons Are Available:
- Monday - Friday: 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Saturday: 9 a.m to 9 p.m.
- Sunday: 9 a.m to 9 p.m.
Lesson Rates
- $30 for a full hour (60 min)
- $15 for a half hour (30 min)
